I got my start in photography after a bad bicycle crash. After I shattered my ankle, I decided to pick up my mom's old camera, and it just kinda came to me.

I got my start like many other action/adventure photographers. I was a participant first, then, as my friends got better than me, I gravitated towards a camera and progressed that way. I had always been drawn to technology as well as art so I guess it was the perfect combination of the two.
All through my childhood my dad was a well-traveled photographer. In the late 90s I bought a Nikon Coolscan 4000 and started archiving his old 35mm slides (Kodachrome, of course!). On an old Sony DSC-P32 in 2004. Still one of the worst cameras I've ever owned. However, I used this camera enough to know I wanted to become better at photography and this led me to invest more time and effort in the hobby. The Canon 40D was the first camera I truly enjoyed shooting with and saw the potential to get better.
